Welcome To Minnesota Arabian Horse Association
The Open Show, started in 2005, is a MAHA project that is emailed to an ever-growing list of people who are interested in open shows. If you are interested in being added to that email list or if you are on the list but have a new email address please contact Laura Mickelson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Arabians Unplugged is a group of Arabian horse clubs dedicated to the promotion of affordable, fun, family friendly showing of Arabians, Half Arabians and Anglo Arabians ‘unplugged’ from the current rated shows scene. Arabians Unplugged qualifying shows allow Arabian horse exhibitors to show against their true peers, in their own breed, with all automatically enrolled at no cost for the year-end circuit high point. Be sure to visit and join the Arabians Unplugged Facebook group page.
Each year at the High Points Banquet an enthusiastic group gathers to take home impressive awards and discuss the future of the Arabians Unplugged program. The awards are sponsored by donations from the clubs. Congratulations to all who participate.
For show bills, high point rules, and results, go to Arabiansunplugged.com. Check out the Unplugged 2016 High Point and Leadline winners. The 2016 Awards banquet was held at 1 pm, Nov. 12 at the Pizza Ranch in Champlin.
The Arabian Open Show Championships (AOSC) started in 2006 as classes added to the Steele County Fair open horse show and became a stand-alone show in 2007. This is a MAHA show and is now one of the Arabians Unplugged circuit of shows. This show is put on by MAHA as a promotional event so is very dependent on the generosity of our patrons and sponsors. With the support of our judges and volunteers, MAHA is able to put on a low cost show with high quality awards. Check out the 2017 show bill!
MAHA is also a member of the Western Saddle Club Association (WSCA). MAHA members are WSCA members at no additional cost, but must submit their name, address, phone number and date of birth to Laura Mickelson to add them to the WSCA member list, which is due at the end of May. All clubs can put shows on the online and print ON DECK publication of WSCA The Spotlight. The WSCA Championship Show at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds is one of the largest shows in the country running five days and with over 4000 entries!
The AHA Open Event Incentive Program (OEIP) rewards both riders and horses that excel in all-breed competitions outside of the traditional Arabian horse community. As a participant in OEIP, you and your horse will accumulate points based on how you place in competitions and be rewarded for all of your achievements and hard work For additional information Click here.
